This book started and ended with the death of a loved one but still had so much light and hope. And all those journal entries about their everyday life conversations are just pure poetry — intimate, tender, silly.
Left me in tears.
Beautiful, quiet, reflective.
In a journal entry, Hayes quotes Oliver Sacks saying “The most we can do is to write—intelligently, creatively, critically, evocatively—about what it is like living in the world at this time.”
And Hayes does.
