Loved loved loved 9.86/10. I love one grumpy farmer cat dad and his sunshine social media influencer girlfriend.
Characters-10
I loved Evie and Beckett. We met them in Book 1, but I loved seeing their story unfold. I thought they matched each other perfectly in terms of personality. We also have appearances from the characters from Book 1, and I loved seeing them again. Evie as a character was definitely relatable, and I saw some elements of myself in her.
Atmosphere-10
I'm here for the small-town vibes of this series. I love the small-town stores and the phone tree.
Writing-10
I'm rating the audiobook a 10. I loved the duel POV,; both narrators did a fantastic job with the audiobook. The dialogue is witty and heartfelt.
Plot-10
I haven't noticed the tropes in the romances I read until recently. I loved the plot of this small town-second chance Romance, and I want to find more like it. The story was perfect because we saw how the characters were feeling and how the two of them grew throughout the story. I loved the small and big moments of their love story.
Intrigue-9
I was interested in the story. Because of spoiler reasons, I don't want to say why I docked a number for the intrigue of this story.
Logic-10
This was a logical story. The characters communicate most of their feelings and reasons for their actions. All the plot beats in this story made sense to me.
Enjoyment-10
I loved this story. I loved the characters, the plot, the writing, the setting, the cats, and how everything worked so well for me. If you like small town romances, check out this story.

This was such a wonderful sequel to the Lovelight Farms series. I absolutely loved Beckett in the first book, but being able to actually learn more about him and how he thinks was so great. I fell more in love with his character because of it. I also appreciated that this book was Dual POV. Often, romance books in a series stick with a similar POV throughout, and since the first one was from only from the woman’s POV, I was worried about losing out on Beckett’s thoughts. I was very happy that was NOT the case. I also fell in love with Evelyn. She was very relatable. Her search for happy in a world that is inundated by social media and the internet is something I think everyone can connect to. This book even made me want to take stock of my life and look for “my happy”. It’s rare that a romance book does that for me. While, of course, this book had more than just romance, ooooh man, was the romance good. They both were so sweet with each other and had such good chemistry, it was hard not to shout “just get together already!!”. There is something really addictive about the way this author writes. I’m not sure what it is but it just screams comfort and wholesome. I really can’t recommend this book (and series) enough. I will 100% being reading the next installment.
4.5/5
This was so good!!!!
I LOVED them oh my god. Evie and Beckett were so good together! I loved them separately and together. I liked how they grew and allowed themselves to trust each other - though I really wanted to punch Beckett in the face at the end there. What an idiotic behaviour lol.
Josie is the real MVP for me, I loved her so much. Amazing.
Becket's grand gesture was amazing, I loved it.
I loved this book though I slightly prefer Lovelight Farms and now I'm super disappointed that while both Beckett and Evie got their chapter, Luka never got his except for the epilogue. Not fair!
I am a little disappointed. It was not as much of a page turner as the first one. I do not think I like this trope, it was my first time with it and I am not a fan. Also the miscommunication was soooo eavy! When one of the caracther even says it, you've gone too far
Loved some of it but not much.

To absolutely no one's surprise, I loved In the Weeds just as much as I loved Lovelight Farms. I really love how Borison writes — the characters just leap right off the page and stand next to you while you read. In the Weeds takes the side character of Beckett from the first book and explores him and his relationship with the social media starlet, Evelyn St. James. They were adorable together, and steaming hot when it got to that part, but woof. I wanted to shake them by their shoulders in the standard third act break-up.
By the way, can we stop with the third act break-up? Come up with some other way to introduce tension into the relationship or something, because I am tired of it. We know the two are going to get back together, we know there's a happy ending at the end (OR I WOULDN'T READ IT.) so most of the time the third act break-up just seems cheap and over engineered. In In the Weeds, there's just a substantial amount of miscommunication, or just plain no communication. EVERYTHING WOULD HAVE BEEN SOLVED IF THEY HAD JUST TALKED TO EACH OTHER. Like ADULTS.
But oh well. Tis a standard thing for contemporary romance novels, so I guess I should get off my soap box, and just deal with it.
Beckett is a lovely leading man, and I would have read a bunch more starring him. I loved his love for animals, his sisters, his father...all of it. He was so full of love, it was practically leaking out his ears. I loved that he had a sensory issue, and couldn't be around loud noises for too long. I loved that he wasn't perfect. It was fantastic representation, so I was very pleased with that. I also really liked Evelyn — someone who was just lost. She was seemingly perfect — everyone loved her, she wanted to help everyone, etc etc. But she was so confused as to what she wanted out of life that she felt relatable. Mush them together, and they were just peaches and cream. Fantastic.
ANYWAY — I really love Borison's writing, and I think she's well on her way to being someone I auto-buy. We'll see how I feel after the next entry into this series, which I already have downloaded and ready to go from KU. Onto the next, my friends.
This book brings us back to the small town of Inglewild, which reminds me a lot of Stars-Hollow, now to see the story of Beck and Evie unfold.
This was a beautifully written, sweet, tender, and comforting story. The characters were likeable and despite the bits of miscommunication, I was absolutely charmed by this romance.
