This is the first graphic novel I'm reviewing that I've read this year. It's a cute lesbian romance that I find sweet. The story revolves around Momo Gardner, who is always ready to help others but is sensitive and introverted.
She ends up falling in love with PG, and she has many doubts about whether PG loves her the way she does or if she's just a hookup or friend with benefit situation for PG. Even though it's not her initial feelings it is based on what others whisper about PG. On the other hand PG is a kind of heartbroken
I hate most romance books and films. They make me want to vom. In fiction and real life. The only romances I inhale are the messed-up, dark kind of romance, yet for some bizarre reason, when it comes to graphic books, I can happily read smoochy stuff as long as it's written well, and this book was EVERYTHING!
This book is a sapphic, cute, funny and heartwarming romance story about two college girls. Momo is introverted and shy with what would seem to be social anxiety. and PG is a popular lady who appears to leave a trail of broken hearts behind her.
The relationship development between them was so adorable, I didn't vomit once. The backstories of the girls, the college vibes, Eunnie's writing, and the beautiful illustrations had me kicking my feet. I am a grown woman kicking my damn feet because I wanted nothing but the best for Momo and PG.
Momo, whom I instantly loved, reminds me of me: introverted, shy, and with a small circle of friends. From the very start, I felt there was more to PG, she didn't seem very happy with her choices, but she was very charming, and I liked her a lot.
The bipoc representation throughout the entire book was chefs kiss. As a Londoner, that's what I am used to, and I love seeing that in books.
I didn't expect this would be a 5-star read, but it was. I really can't wait to see what other books Eunnie will be putting out. I will definitely be reading this again, and it's such a pretty book to look at, hold, and read.
I mean I overall just liked this book. Qould deffinlty recemend it
extremely cute sapphic offering from the creator of the internet-famous “pink in the night” comic and also PG's lil bro henry is spot on in that sometimes, people want words!!! (everyone should learn this lesson but then romcoms would be a whole lot shorter if we did)
give me more softie gaysian heartthrobs any day. i also very much relate to momo's people-pleasing tendencies. i feel like 3 stars is not a super high rating but it does accurately describe how i feel about it, which is that i “liked it”
omg this was so cute!! i loved PG and Momo so much! i loved getting to know PG's past a little bit and learning that she really is a big softy! i love how she cares about Momo!! i really hope this will become a series and they're will be more!!
Come close... closer whispers this book is so stinking cute. And you should read it when it comes out.
Just based on the cover I knew this was going to be a cute love story, but of course it ended up being so much more!
Momo being the shy, inexperienced girl when it comes to relationships finds herself with the well experienced “seducer” PG.
Incoming meet cute and the classic misunderstanding this was a fairly quick read with amazing art panels throughout. I can't wait to get a physical copy!
