Meh.

Very bland ordinary writing, bland ordinary characters, bland world, plus unnecessary vampires - a ridiculous fad I really dislike (even more than the zombies one).

Enjoyable, but not quite memorable. Other reviews on Goodreads go into deeper details, but the short of it was that although it wasn't a bad story, it wasn't a world I want to return to find out what happens next. A little disappointed since I really enjoyed the Summoner books by Gail.

Took a while to get invested in the book, UT found the story interesting and the 2nd half kept me wanting to read more the. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
