Ice Cream Man reminded me of a Stephen King novel. Only, not as well written. At 67 pages this was pretty much a short story and for what it was it wasn't too bad, but I felt like it was also short on any details that might have sucked me into the story.
There were things I liked about this story. I did like vulgarity (which is good, because there was lots of it.) I did like the representation of the Ice Cream Man in all his platform booted splendor. However, his “murders” while creative where not detailed enough to be creepy (only gory) and none of the characters were at all likable (and with one or two exceptions not very interesting either.) I also found the plot to be very “been there read that” and it seemed to jump around a bit from scene to scene.
Ice Cream Man could have been a great story, but fell short in my opinion.
