Originally, I wanted to rate this book with 3 stars because lots of times I had to literally force myself to keep reading sometimes boring and informatively exhausting chapters without any end in sight. It was only after finishing the book that I could really appreciate the value and picture that this book provides. Not only about Howard Hughes, but about politics, governments, big companies and human society in general. As the number of remaining pages was approaching zero, the whole picture suddenly snapped together like a puzzle and I was left with an impression (most likely skewed) that I finally understood how big things (good and bad) are done in the world.
Even though this book is one of the more difficult books to read because of the copious amount of data that is contained in it, I would highly recommend it to everybody who would like to peer into life (and madness) of Howard Hughes and people around him. This book will reward you with providing detailed account of many highs and lows of not only his life, but of the society in general.
