Hostile For The Holidays

I liked most of the story, fake dating while being childhood rivals is a fun trope. A fun quick holiday romcom.

Things I didn't love:

- the girl was extremely hung up on their childhood rivalry when the guy was not at all, which made her seem very childish and petty.

- the guy had apparently been pining for like 10 years (in which they either didn't or barely saw each other), which honestly is a bit sad.

- the way the sex scenes were worded was uncomfortale for me (like 'milk', 'cunt', immediately thinking about 'putting a baby inside her').

This is a great and fast read for when you’re in between reads. I will say that I found Stella to be a bit juvenile at times but it is what it is. I think she did entirely too much when she found out about the painting Jasper had bought when they were kids, yeah it was messed up to keep it to himself all those years but girl, it was when you were kids, get over it. I sure wouldn’t mess up what they had going on for a drawing that was made in school lol. There’s something about a man who takes care of his woman (even though she wasn’t his woman yet) that gets me going, like yes sir, show her you care! Love him. If you’re looking for a fast, fun, and spicy holiday read, I suggest picking this novella up when it releases.
