Very well written, but the lonelinesses in this book are killing. Thank god it ends well. Like The Unseen World, it is drawn out too long. Too much suffering. The fact I had to keep reading both books nonetheless, where usually I would chuck stories so bleak, goes to show you something.

Great performances on the audiobook by Kirby Heyborne and Keith Szarabajka.

This book is rich in complicated ways. Loneliness, loss, and the sadness that comes from unfulfilled love permeate this novel, yet it feels hopeful. This book is nowhere near as strong as Moore's most recent novel (The Unseen World), but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Moore did some interesting things with grammar and dialogue in this book.

This was a great, addictive, stay-up-all-night finishing book. Great books make you think about the everyday in new and unexpected and often empathetic new ways - this is that book.
