I've seen a lot of people talking about this author and I've always wanted to read something by her and I'm glad I finally have. I ended up enjoying this one more than I was expecting to. It's usually hard for me to fall in love with a short book because 9 times out of 10 I'm left needing more and not in the way where I'm like oh I loved this book so much I need more but, in the way, where I'm like I feel like I'm missing parts of the story. This one gave me everything I could possibly want. I loved this friends to lovers romance and how they communicated so well with each other for the majority of the book. I was really hoping they would continue communicating with each other once they realized they had actual romantic feelings for each other but that was not the case. There had to be a little bit of drama thrown in I guess even though it didn't need to happen. Also, this book is very steamy. I loved every minute I spent reading this and I'm looking forward to reading more books by this author.

This friends to lovers was done so incredibly well. It had me aww-ing, gasping and crying. All of that and not because of the sex. I only mention that because folks are honing in on that aspect of this relationship but the sex was good because of the intense connection these two had.
Navi-Nav is feeling like crap after reading a few reviews of her books (apparently she hasn't learned to stay off of goodreads either). The reviews are basically saying she's lost her groove as an author. She decides to ask her best friend since birth to help her get her inspiration and creativity back. Xander is weirded out about the whole thing until he is not. The story continues to ebb and flow into deeper waters as they both experiment with the newly added dynamic. Something that started as temporary and safe becomes intense in every sense of the word and scary (as in this is unreal and I want it to stay real).
I loved it. The flow was great. The fact that she asked her best friend to do this didn't catch me off guard at all. It made sense. Who else would you ask but the one person who knows you better than anyone else and you feel completely safe with. Could it have ruined friendships? Yes but I BELIEVED it wouldn't. With that said Slightly annoyed was I with the conflicts that were thrown in because of course but I just thought their friendship/history was stronger than that and the conflict felt so awkward and forced. I mean I gasped out loud at 3AM because I was like hell no! I also thought we as the reader should have had a sample of the new work she started on since apparently her plan worked and she became inspired inspired.
This was so good. BTW... All of y'all are saying this was erotic but it wasn't really. I don't know if I just happen to be immune to it or what but I just thought this had some intense loving. Yes there are like a couple freaky deeky moments but that was it. More like a dare. A savage dare.
Anyway, I got this on KU but I plan to purchase it.

I never thought I would like friends to lovers especially in a novella but this was done so well! I feel like this was the absolute perfect length for Navaya and Xander's story. This was so steamy but also had amazing character development woven in.
