Gemina is the second book in the Illuminae Files. I thoroughly enjoyed the first entry into this series, and while I liked Gemina, it wasn't as satisfactory as Illuminae was. The biggest issue for me was the climax of the book. To be perfectly frank, it was confusing as hell. Too much going on at once, I think. It almost felt like the authors weren't too sure where they were going with the actual plot and just kinda hamfisted a solution.
I did, however, REALLY enjoy the main characters. Hanna, Nik, and Ella were just...amazing. Ella especially – what fantastic disabled rep, what an awesome, hilarious personality that comes through via IMs. Nik and Hanna's relationship was entertaining in a way that I really enjoy – he basically thinks she hung the moon, and she can't stand him at first. Obviously, things change as the story goes on.
STILL super into this series, still definitely going to read the next one. I just hope it wraps up the series in a satisfying way without being too convoluted.
