I feel a little torn on how to describe my personal impressions of the book. The heat level is low, almost fading to black, so it felt a bit like a YA story. As a vivid fantasy reader I enjoyed the fascinating, vibrant and colorful magical world. The author has skillfully woven in it elements of Asian mythology and fairy tales, refracting them through the prism of their own perspective, allowing the imagination to run wild. This is a highly intricate, action-packed story filled with loss, grief, sadness and betrayal, where love and friendship are rare and must be cherished and protected.
The ending felt like HFN so may be there will be continuation in the future.
Regarding the name of one of the main characters - Ling Ling - please, proceed cautiously if you think that it's offensive for people of asian origins and triggering for you.
I received an ARC in return for my honest review.

Foxy Tails is an MM fantasy romance with a colorful cast of characters. This story involves demons, foxes, healers, magic, murder, and vengeance. In a world where nothing is what it seems, the story is full of magic, danger, suspense, and tension. Honestly, the romance fell a bit flat to me because it seemed like a slow burn that was building towards something big, and it didn't. The book feels like it is geared toward a younger audience.
