Fourth Wing reminds me why I love reading so much. And heck, do I LOVE this book. It definitely lives up to its hype and so much more.

The emotions I went through while reading this book... I couldn't even begin. I smiled like an idiot, I gasped, I laughed and I definitely cried. I did. Chapter 28 gave me goosebumps. The story has been building to that one pivotal moment, and it was beautifully delivered. Magnificently done. And chapter 36 broke me. I wasn't prepared, and it broke me.

And the dragons. The dragons. Majestic creatures. Kinda make you wish you can have one. And the bond these dragons grant their riders is wonderfully magical. The dragons chose their own rider, not the other way around and that's thoroughly logical for majestic creatures as such. I particularly love Tairn's sarcasm and Andarna's softness.

The main characters are mostly lovable. I especially love Violet's steely determination and courage. She got balls, that one. Even when she is actually afraid, she stands for herself and never waver. Violet is not like some other FMCs who are always annoyingly stuck in their own angst, like they have to be different from other people. Oh please.

And then we have Xaden. Xaden Riorson. Hello, new book boyfriend. He's almost always aloof, tough and ruthless, but thoughtful. An exemplary leader. And of course, a passionate lover. With his tragic background, you could almost expect some red flags from the guy, but fortunately, he's all good. He is amazing, in fact. The way he is protective without being coddling, I admire that of him, unlike Dain the-shit-stain. Dain gave me the wrong vibe right from the very beginning. Given the chance, I'd love for Tairn to incinerate the dude to ash.

The ending will leave you screaming, though. And then you wait. You wait impatiently for the second book to come out. 7th November could not come fast enough, for sure.
