Very tempted to give this book one star for making me feel so sad but I won't, because, of course, it is superbly written and heartbreaking and beautiful. This is a reread so I knew what I was getting myself into. Not looking forward to the experience of reading the next two books in this trilogy. Robin Hobb really puts her characters through hell...
“The past is no further away than the last breath you took.”
Another emotional ride—I should get used to it by now, but I still enjoy being hurt by this author. After finishing the brilliant Liveship Traders trilogy, I was so excited to get back to Fitz. The book is slow, but I didn't mind the pace since I enjoy the character study of Fitz. I'm glad we got to see some of the older cast of characters and I loved the dynamic between Fitz and Dutiful.
Healed my heart then shattered it into pieces.
Thank you Robin Hobb for letting us return to Fitz and Nighteyes but also fuck you Robin Hobb for you-know-what-you-did.
I need a breather. How do I read 2 books in a row where the character nearest to my heart just
The Liveship Traders are still my favorite, but this is amazing as well. I loved being back with Fitz, the Fool, and Night Eyes. I love Robin Hobb's writing. She is a genius.
I'd forgotten how much I love Hobb's writing, and it was just delightful to be back with Fitz. It seems like Farseer was the Skill trilogy, and Tawny Man will be the Wit trilogy.
Happy to return to first characters after the LiveShip Trilogy diversion. Fitz gets back in the royal game, but how does it go? You can guess, but it would be more fun to watch the story play out with this trilogy. You can't just read this book. Prepare to dive into the whole Tawny Man trilogy. It'll go by quickly.
La saga de l'Assassin Royal (en français) reprend quinze ans après la fin de la trilogie originale avec ce nouveau roman où Fitz retrouve le Fou.
