[3.75] At the start I genuinely thought this installment of the Licking Thicket series was shaping up to be one of my favorites. Dunn is just that much of a sweetheart—albeit a rather oblivious and derpy one, but on him it's perfectly endearing! The Steak ‘n Bait “double date night” fiasco had me cackling and the little things Dunn would do for Tucker throughout without hesitation had my heart aflutter.

But then I reached the 57% mark and well....the whole “get on your knees” thing? Came out of left field and was honestly a major turnoff for me (not to mention the way they referred to it as a “test.” Even if only a poor choice of words, no thanks). Dunn was more than justified to be peeved and deserved better here, considering Tucker was the one who avoided talking to him like the plague and essentially let Carter provoke him nonstop.

Besides that hiccup, I did enjoy reading the rest. Sometimes with these “can't see what's right in front of them” stories, you may find me pulling my hair out in frustration and/or ready to throw my phone across the room, but here the authors delivered those moments with such exaggerated and comedic grace, I could only sit back and obnoxiously laugh until my stomach hurt. Sure, it's ridiculously OTT but in such a way that is charmingly bizarre and perfect if you're in dire need of some hearty laughs! Loved every second Brooks and Mal were on the page, all hail Bernadette the piggy, and mad props to Carter for accompanying both Dunn and Tucker as they drunkenly shared their relationship woes without strangling either one of them (very very excited to read Carter's story!). Suspend your belief and you'll enjoy the heck out of this series, I promise!
