I read pretty much all the books by this author and they were all pretty good!

Sometimes I read books and I'm glad that my schooling was through the French (québecois) system and that I was therefore not exposed to them until much later in life, this one was such an instance.

I never read it when it came out and can see why it was popular. That incest section was skeezy and not needed. Even in the time in came out. Writing engaging and well done.

This actually wasn't all that bad. I really liked the children characters and it's an interesting take on what happens when children are just locked away and abused.

they made this series into lifetime TV movies so I have been slowly reading the series to keep up with the movie releases, pleasantly surprised that I actually did enjoy this one and the second so far.

I read this long ago in my teens. I remember I was appalled at how bad the writing was. I was gobsmacked when I saw it was a series that seemed to go on and on.
