Flesh and Blood (Kay Scarpetta, #22)

I don't know why I put myself through the torture of reading this. Any hopes I had that the Scarpetta of the earlier books had returned were dashed by chapter 3. Yet, I persevered, wading through Scarpetta's endless whining and paranoia, ignoring my brains endless pleading to please stop.
I think it's time to pull the plug on Scarpetta. 22 books down the line she is no longer a heroine to me but a clinically cold, whining, narcissistic, unlikeable creature.
