Fish Out of Water

2.5 stars. This read like a middle aged white woman trying desperately to write dark, tough, urban characters, not realizing that she is in way over her head. A suspense novel plot should not consist primarily of the bad guys shooting at the two MCs. “Write what you know” isn't always the right advice, but in this case Ms. Lane should stick to the sweet romances and leave the hard-boiled stuff for another author.
