You care about the main characters- Finlay, Vero, and Nick - but the plot is just too madcap slapstick for me. I read but skim through the most implausible parts.
Absolutely LOVE this series. Every book is a delight, full of crazy shenanigans and chaos. Vero and Finlay are the perfect main characters and have me laughing often. This book was no different and I was here for it. I cannot wait for the next installment.
I sincerely appreciate the author and NetGalley for the review copy.
I think I'm done with this series. The first two books were enjoyable reads. The more I think about the third, the more I dislike it and well, even though a lot is tied up in the fourth, it was a struggle to get to the end. Both for the characters in the book and for me to read.
This book was just too much. Too many characters. Too many plot lines. Too much implausibility. All too neatly tied up with a lack of consequences.
I realized in the third book that I cannot stand Finlay and my opinion hasn't improved. I stuck with this book because of Vero.
4.0/5.0 It's just such a fun audiobook. Read the 3rd book and whatever but listening to the same characters and their silly things is more fun. Groundbreaking literature? Nah. Fast, silly light reading? Absolutely
