If you push past the awkward start, it is an enjoyable story about finding a home. The pack is cautious when they first meet Anna. And the author explains why they are. So, the pack isn't sitting there being jerks, with the reader and the MC lost as to why. Which is an issue I have with a lot of RH's.
I relate to Anna. Being socially awkward and not sure about how to make friends. She ends up bending over backward to ingratiate a friendship, only to be used and then forgotten. She has a backbone but explains away people's actions with empathy. I love that the pack sees her and appreciates her when she tries to help and to do her part. They do not take advantage and stand up for her when they see her being miss used. The twins, in particular.
This is an easy read. There isn't a lot of action but it has a lot of mystories. It's a feel-good read without the Unicorns. And that is something I needed right now, hens the re-read.
This series starts out so, so good. I was hooked – read 4 books from the series without stop. Perhaps I overdid it or perhaps reading it in the sun had me distracted, but as much as I loved the first 4 or so books, I'm not finishing this series because I'm over it?? Such a shame.
Even though I'm not finishing it there are so many good things here. A cute romance that does stake a while to grow (shall we call it medium?) and Anna is a pretty strong character able to hold her own. The guys are all adorable in their own ways. The writing flows so well and once again I tore through half the series in a handful of days. It is definitely worth your time to try reading.
