I enjoyed this book for what it is, a short and sweet romance with low angst and lovable characters.
Is this the greatest work of literature? No. But it did bring me out of my slump and so it served its purpose for me.
It was....fine. Didn't really knock my socks off, maybe because of the novella length, although I enjoyed Albert's Portland Heat series ([b:Served Hot 23450159 Served Hot (Portland Heat, #1) Annabeth Albert https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1416339799l/23450159.SX50.jpg 43012645], etc.), and they were also novellas. The buttoned-up city hipster and the laid back farmer should be a winning combination, but I never felt fully invested in their relationship. Bonus points for both MCs being close to their mothers, and for introducing an angsty secondary character who is perfect for Garrett Leigh's style (mysterious past trauma) and the MC of the next book in the series, [b:Heartscape 56403162 Heartscape (Vino & Veritas, #2) Garrett Leigh https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1609894818l/56403162.SY75.jpg 87875975].
