Characters - 9
The characters have stayed pretty consistent for me throughout the series so far. They are quite interesting to read and there are a few conversational moments between them that really show off their senses of humor. There was one small thing that made me hate one of the characters for a bit, but that didn't last long. (iykyk)
Atmosphere - 8
The atmosphere in this book was pretty decent. I still felt quite engrossed by the story and the descriptions were always enough to picture the scene but they weren't dwelled on too much so as to slow down the pacing.
Writing - 8
There were a few things that I didn't like writing wise in this book, but not enough to make me stop reading. I found noticing some smaller writing details compared to the previous books, however that might just be me trying to focus more on what I'm reading.
Plot - 9
This plot went crazy. Wild twists and turns, unexpected events, and plenty of drama ensued. If it were any other series, I'd hate that it ended on a cliffhanger, but I know to expect that from the Michael Vey-verse at this point.
Intrigue - 10
I was thoroughly intrigued throughout the story, despite a few dicey plotlines. Definitely looking forward as to where the next book will pick up.
Logic - 8
There was enough logic in this book to work. Considering the age range and supernatural content, the logic was passable so that nothing seemed to need further “does this really make sense” investigation, though this book did stretch the boundaries of my imagination further than the previous ones.
Enjoyment - 9
I enjoyed this book very much. Honestly, I mostly look forward to reading this series purely for the drama though. XD
