A broken mirror, a face appearing out of nowhere, a shadow presence that haunts Balta Espinar whose anguish and premonitions find fertile ground in his troubled soul. Insomnia, nightmares, spectres in the fields, wrath become his everyday existence, risking his family and his sanity.
César Vallejo, one of the most prominent poets of the 20th century, creates a fable, a wild tale, a passionate song of omens, passions and superstitions nestles in the Peruvian countryside. What separates primordial fear and madness? How can imaginary horrors cultivate a tangible injustice? What is real and what is born out of our own insecurities?
A darkly beautiful novella by a master of the Art.
