It started out kind of silly...well, it's kind of silly throughout, but it's good nonetheless! Although it did feel like the story took quite awhile to build up and then it ended kind of quickly. I'm still not even sure what the point of it was, but the ending was magnificent & fearless.
This is a sharp, smart read for people who like to think AND who enjoy vamps and angels. The alternating voices add complexity to the plot. This is not an easy read. Smith does not just hand it to you on a plate, you have to work a little bit to understand these characters.
The best part of this book was the world it exists in. I can't wait to read Blessed.
I highly recommend this for readers who love Harris's Sookie books (there are many similarities).
Good stuff! And this means a lot coming from me as I am 1. Tired of vampires and 2. Not crazy about angels.
