Elfkind

Lariel has lived a life of privilege and protection all her life, cherished daughter of the king of Tallen. But all of that is taken from her when the king's own commander of the guard turns against her family and kills her father. On the run and in exile, alone and afraid, she finds refuge with the elves and discovers in herself a heritage previously unknown: she is Elfkind.
