Ecopolis: Architecture and Cities for a Changing Climate

2008 • 610 pages

Ecopoli is an extraordinary book that first in the world suggests innovotive ideas for architecure and urbanistic, like "Xiastic System" ("Sistema Chiastico", from the omonimous greek letter) where an Highway is not only seen as connection between two towns, but as an instrument for creating meeting point (Commercial Centres, etc.) or new aggregations: tows are no more "jumped" by an Highway but integrated and accessible thaks to it.
Ferruccio Cerutti is born on 25 August 1930 in Ardesio (a small italian town in the north of Italy) and is living in Milan (Italy).
He is architect and urbanist, famous for his churches and buildings (more than 100!). He has also contributed to other innovative rules in Urbanistic, as the "perequazione urbanistica" (urban equalization), introduced in the regional law of Regione Lombardia (Italy).
