I am not one to tell a writer how to do their job BUT when you create a volume of folk tales, you need to think of those readers who are not familiar with Scottish dialect. It goes without saying that it needs to be preserved but page after page after page of dialect makes it impossible for the rest of us to read.
In addition, making fun of religious figures and creating ridiculous ‘‘jokes'' to appear funny is a truly lame way for a writer to engage their audience. You don't believe? Fine. You are an idiot but do not take the rest of us for idiots.
