Dusk or Dark or Dawn or Day

Oh, but this is gut-wrenching, but beautiful and bittersweet. A story of grief and family and sisterhood, and what it means to hang onto the shreds of living.  Yes, the world is never fair, but we do what we can to balance it out. Maybe that???s not enough, but every little bit helps. It's also not as creepy as I thought it???d be; less a horror story and more about what it means to balance the world. 

I stumbled across this in a bargain bin, and boy I do not know how it got there. I have been searching for some quiet, upmarket fantasy, and this ghost story really hits the spot. It packs so much into such a short book, dealing with grief, power, family, suicide, and all with a unique take on what ghosts are and why they linger. Highly recommended for people who want a soft, subtle, fantastical tale.

As always I loved Seanan Maguire's writing however I didn't connect to this story as much as I didn't get Wayward Children series. Perhaps it needed to be a longer book? I still enjoyed it but something was missing with this one for me.

DNF about halfway through. I couldn't take it seriously. The premise is just kind of stupid in my opinion and I felt really silly reading it. Fantasy books are usually very hit or miss for me. So, it's not surprising that I didn't enjoy this.

God that was beautiful. I love stories about ghosts.

I enjoyed this. Great voice on Jenna, interesting concept about ghosts. If this become a series I'll read it.
