I'm not saying this is objectively great or anything, but it was formative to me as a teenager, and rereading it now I'm pleased by some of the complexity.
Book 2 continues where book 1 ended, diving straight into the story without slowing down the pace. The setting is brought to vivid life and you can feel for the main characters as they go through their individual dilemmas and their inner struggles. The finale battle of this book is one that's forever etched in my mind as being one of the most memorable and most tragic to ever touch my heart.
