I found this volume a bit more meandering, even with some dry spells that took a bit for me to trudge through, but when all is said and done, the final reveals and push toward the end make up for it. The mystery, romance and detail to history is all on fine display and Claire and Jamie's roller coaster relationship that feels both real and genuine is certainly the highlight that keeps you going through the draggy bits. In the final pages setting things up for interesting things to come in the future, leaves the readers reassured that the story won't stop here, but neither will the struggle, heartache, tears and mystery. Looking forward to it in future volumes though.
