Divine Evil

I go back and forth with this book. The last part really took away from the ending I wanted and should have gotten. Min Atherton bugged me but there were other characters who were so promising, but kind of relegated to the background - like Alice. Loved her!

But I did like the book. There was romance, suspense, mystery & the creep factor. It's funny how things have changed over the decades though! I remember reading this back in the 90s and liking it, but reading it this time I just found it funny how many chain smokers there were! I can't think of any current books where the main characters smoke anymore.

Ok so this was DARK. Also...dated, so keep in mind. There was some fatphobia, lots of smoking, and a pretty heavy religious plot.

But WOW did this entirely pull me in and grip me. Very well written, super engrossing world.

I love you Nora Roberts. I love your 1992 interpretation of the Satanic Panic. I love your World Famous Young Feminist Sculptor heroine. I even love your stupid cop love interest unfortunately.
