Richard Hallows was very unconvinced that going green would be easy enough to keep himself motivated, or that his small contribution to the planet's welfare would be worth having. However, guilt and a desire to reduce his household bills persuaded him, reluctantly, to give it a try. This is his diary of the first few months of going green - funny, cynical and full of practical tips. He's not always convinced by the arguments, he's driven mad by the contradictions in eco-guidelines, and he doesn't always succeed. But he reveals how his family manages to save the planet at least a little bit, without having to knit their own pasta or wear sandals
