Actual Book Description:
He was the man I couldn't avoid. and the one man I couldn't' resist. Damien Stark could have his way with any woman. He was sexy. confident, and commanding: Anything he wanted, he got. And what he wanted was me. Our attraction was unmistakable, almost beyond control, but as much as I ached to be his, I feared the pressures of his demands. Submitting to Damien meant I had to bare the darkest truth about my past - and risk breaking us apart. But Damien was haunted, too. And as our passion came to obsess us both, his secrets threatened to destroy him - and us - forever.

Note: I am so fucking sick and tired of Doms being billionaires. People, come up with a new goddamn story. Shit like this makes me want to read a MC Club book.
Nikki was written pretty well. She had an independent streak and a strong backbone. But at the same time, she also had vulnerabilities that she saw as weaknesses. She is very aware of how her weaknesses may be perceived by someone in a dominant position. This causes some issues between her and Damian. When he tries to step in and help Nikki she sees it as controlling and starts an argument. The feelings are valid and something that not a lot of books will address. I think the author does it a bit too much though. But I commend J. Kenner on making the characters communicate. A golden rule in the BDSM community.
Damian is your typical billionaire. The author's inability to separate herself from the pack here is very disappointing, obviously. But she does make Damien down to earth and emotional. Which in other books you don't see the Dom deal with their shit until later on in the series.
Overall the dirty talk is really good. I'm assuming the BDSM aspects will expand as the relationship continues. But the sex scenes in this book became redundant. If you're using this book to help scratch that itch, I recommend the first few sex scenes.
At this point, I will not be continuing this series due to the amount of stereotypical bullshit that I'm tired of reading. Though I may pick it up down the road.
