I looked death in the face many times in my life, but nothing beats getting swallowed by a tree. It rarely made sense that I survived attacks that should have killed me, yet I'm still here.

Now, I finally know why.

The truth is uglier than even I expected, and it changes everything—except Marcus, a.k.a. Mr Bad Guy. He still uses magic like he owns it. That’s because he does, and he’s not the only one out there.
