Why is Bill still on the cover!!!! He isn't even in the picture anymore.... just stubbornly hanging on.
Plus, this one is really more about the fae.... Claude should be on the cover haha.
Anyhow, this book got pretty intense.
This is definitely one of the best books of the series. Harris finally brings a slick, multi-layered story together with just enough fan service, along with great characterization and even keeps it at only a little over 300 pages. She also holds no punches this time with the series' gritty underbelly - along with the best, its probably the most bleak of all the books. The only flaws I'd say it has is that the villains don't have much character, which I almost didn't miss because the book was already well stocked with drama, but I would've liked a little more resolution in regards to Sookie's seemingly confused fairy relative, Dermot. Otherwise, Harris manages a great, unforgiving addition to the series, that is rewarding despite its darkness.
Oh, I loved it. The saga really took a turn in this book. So good. And the next one doesn't come out until May 2010. ARG!!
