Wildly original. My only complaint is that I felt the sheer uniqueness was slightly dampened by the inclusion of angels. Which isn't much to worry about.
It is kind of a YA Urban fantasy series, where there are more universa and some of them have angels and their enemy ‘chimaera' beasts. Karou, a young and promising art student in Prague, has a close connection to the latter but turns out to be involved with all sides in the conflict.
The story has romance, good vs bad but also lots of people who are a bit of both, and an exiting story. It is pleasantly written, but really aimed at young adults, so slightly less satisfying for me.
