Dancing at Midnight: The Life of June Parker

Won this book in a Giveaway here on Goodreads and feel completely guilty for only reading 82 pages. I could no longer handle the depth of abuse this woman's mother had suffered as a child during the Great Depression. As a mother of four I can attest that any level of physical or emotional abuse to anyone of any age is unacceptable... but what I was reading I found contemptable.

The author's voice came across a bit staccato, the way the story unvails through journaling is unique and almost leaves the role of her daughter unnecessary... Overall I would consider giving this author another chance.
