I know a big complaint about Throne of Glass is that Celaena is supposed to be this hot-shot, evil assassin but doesn't actually use her supposed talents anywhere in the whole book. Well, she DEFINITELY uses them in Crown of Midnight, so people really can't complain about that particular aspect of Crown of Midnight.

Spoilers ahead!

The reveal at the end of the book was SO SATISFYING. Celaena is the heir to the Fae kingdom. Of course, it was incredibly obvious that's where things were going, but damn if it wasn't really nice to see it all play out.

The love triangle ‘thing' is still all over this book, but that's so freaking common with YA books that I can't really whine about it too much. I knew I was reading a YA series when I started it. Chaol is the best, though, c'mon. No contest in my eyes.

There is some BRUTAL violence in this book, so just a forewarning, there. One important character gets murdered, and their death triggers...basically everything afterwards in regards to what happens to Celaena. I was extremely sad to see them die, because they had been a bright spot in the previous novel.

Can't wait to move onto the next book!
