Cronin's Key

I like N.R. Walker's contemporary M/M romances but this was just not for me. I couldn't reconcile the gooey, often lighthearted fated mates love story with the violent vampire/cop plot. Plus the only black character is a drug dealer/informant, which triggered my racism vibes. Finally, the idea that it's okay for vampires to feed on humans because they only choose “the bad ones” (rapists, murderers etc.) bothered me too - who gave them the right to be judge and jury?

I'm not planning to read the next Cronin book, which is something I thought I'd never say about a series by this author.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I like it when I come across stories with vampires that have difference/s to the standard undead. I'm looking forward to reading book 2.
