The book was an easy read, though the plot felt a bit “rushed”—especially during her “training” sequence. I understand that it wouldn't have made sense to fully “train” her due to her memories at the end.
I liked Lilith as a character, but I would have preferred if she hadn't visited her family. That part felt forced, even if I understood her reasons for seeking them out. I struggled to connect with her, so it was hard to fully accept some of her decisions. Similarly, her constant arousal and focus on sex made it difficult. The hot-and-cold interactions between the characters felt off as well; the dynamic didn't quite click for me.Of all the characters, I liked AZ the most and would have loved more time with him. I'm undecided about reading the second book—part of me is curious if the series will improve, but the excessive use of “fucking” and “bloody” in the dialogue is a big deterrent. I have no issue with cursing, but the constant profanity made it hard for me to immerse myself in the story.
