Clytemnestra really said “Are you tired of being nice? Don't you just wanna go apeshit?”
3 1/2
all of the characters were horrible people but that was the point. Was happy my girl got her revenge in the end. For the people who liked song of Achilles, I personally liked this more.
As a fan of mythology, I went into this book hopeful to find a new favorite... It did not disappoint! This was intelligent, emotional, funny, tragic, and full of fierce women. Clytemnenstra was an incredible book for those interested reading about the power women hold and what drives them. Clytemnestra was a powerful, fierce, and loving woman who was underestimated too often. I can't wait to see what Constants Casati writes next!

i couldn't put it down!! really enjoyed, maybe cause I'm a sucker for stories about angry women in greek mythology. all the characters felt really fleshed out and well written.
minus 0.5 stars, cause even tho i understand why the book ended where it did, i would've liked to see a bit more reasoning behind why her children decide to do what they do later.
also i looked up the author and she's younger than me
I thought this was really well done with how it talked about the gods without including them.
I was so excited for the part about Iphigenia that I had forgotten about Cassandra showing up later, which was also well done.
Love, love, love Greek Mythology. Clytemnestra is an amazing, well-written account following a woman who, despite tragedy upon tragedy, stands strong and prevails.
This has everything I love with this type of book. Does Clytemnestra have everything she wants by the end? Not at all, but she does get what she desires most, and she always rewards those who are loyal to her...
Anyone who is a sucker for Greek Mythology should grab this and give it a read. I sincerely appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions expressed are my own.
Losing my patience with the current onslaught of Greek myth retellings that have nothing new to say
