I had a bit of turbulence with this one. I did an audio book in my car and leaving it for about a month and a half really didn't add any ease of returning back in.

I love the world, I like how it had some magic to expand and different people & places to build on. The family dynamics, for example when Amari found out her mother was alive and taking charge to take the throne! Mom considers her daughter dead to her...brother is alive! and that really kept me going like the first book.

Along the way, maybe I left it for too long? Maybe the plot got harder to follow? Maybe the connection to the characters was lost? Something happen and it seemed to drag on for me. The characters became really frustrating for me because all the characters became rather self-centered, ...and I just kinda lost a connection to them down the line was the biggest vibe.

The audio book narrator was again AMAZING! They got the same person to narrate from the first one and she makes it a performance! I gave it another star because of the narrator~
