I thought this book may be a bit twee and that I may lose interest before I finished. How wrong I was. I loved it all.
Started this book with great expectations, but was somewhat disappointed to see it devolve into melodrama, with villains worthy of a soap opera. The letter and diary format wasn't entirely successful, as the entries rarely sounded like something a real person would write. Still, an interesting look at early WWII Britain and the strength of the women who were left behind on the homefront.
