DNF at 193. While I've enjoyed parts of reading it, I don't get what Cisneros is trying to do here and it's not keeping me engaged anymore.

I understand that this is an important part of Chicana literature, which is why I kept reading even though it was completely boring. Being important just isn't enough, though - time to move on.

(Funny, but look what I wrote in 2002: “Author's use of Spanish bothered me.” Oh my!)
