Captain No Beard and The Aurora Borealis is another great book by Carole P. Roman! I hold this author in high respect as her books are always such a thrill to read with her entertaining characters.
I received this review from the author/publisher for the purpose of this review. All comments and opinions are entirely my own.
In Aurora Borealis, Captain No Beard plans to steal the Northern Lights even though he knows that it's wrong. His crew-mates all recognize this and stand up to him despite the pressure that he is the captain. Their urge to do what is right shows the heart of the book and will encourage younger children to stand up for what they know is wrong. It also puts a very bold point on the fact that stealing is wrong, even if it's just “borrowing” without permission. Another learning aspect from this book that I thought worthy of mentioning is some brief information on the North Star. Captain No Beard tells us it's real name and a short and simple reason why it always points North.
So overall, I rate Captain No Beard and the Aurora Borealis 5 out of 5 stars and anxiously look forward to her future books!
Thanks so much for reading!
