[2.75] y'all know i love a fake relationship trope, so when i read the blurb, there was no turning back. but as it turns out, characters who not only start off borderline too unlikable from the word go, but also have their unsavory qualities on proud display for far longer than needed to hammer in that, yes, they are indeed capable of classic privileged, trash behavior, can build a hurdle too high for my sympathy to scale. for the majority of the story, i was under the impression that the only thing Ari had going for him was his good looks, and wishing he had gotten the boot long ago was only another sad indicator of how incompatible my levels of care and his struggles were. to cite an example, Ari's insufferably conceited nature had set the bar so low, he was applauded for remembering his new PA's first name. after getting it wrong many, many times before
