Bourbon & Lies by Victoria Wilder was a well-written romantic suspense. It was infused with the right amount of intrigue and spice. I loved all of the characters, from Laney, the FMC and Grant Foxx, the MMC to the entire Foxx family and the quirky townspeople.
Laney & Grant were drawn to each other from first sight. Although Grant did his best to fight it. He turned out to be an adorable golden retriever with a deliciously dirty mouth. Laney was bold and not afraid to tell Grant exactly what she thought. I loved the development of their relationship and the story. I also loved that there wasn't unnecessary relationship drama.
Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor were incredible. Their narration of the audiobook was captivating and enticing. The character's emotions were palpable. Their chemistry was off the charts. I devoured the audiobook. I can't wait for the next book of the series.

This was fun and light hearted despite it being a “suspenseful romance”. There really was only one chapter that focused on the suspense part, so hesitant to even call it that at all.
Grant was generally unproblematic. Said all the right things. Was the right kind of flirty with a smirk, and a take what he wants kind of guy.
Laney came into town to keep herself safe. Kind of like WITSEC but not officially. The connection between her handler and the Foxx family was an odd surprise.
Laney was the classic cool girl, took no shit, but still a girls girl.
Mostly plot driven and not a ton of character development. It was a good time but overall I will not remember this one
