Knud Dyby, a Danish policeman during the war, who emigrated to the USA in the 50's, tells his story to writer Martha Loefler about his involvement in first assisting a Jewish family he happened to know --and subsequently a large number of Danish resistance members, on the run from the Germans--escape to Sweden. The historical context is mostly drawn from other published sources.
