Really starting 2024 on a good note when it comes to books lol.

As I expected; I giggled and smiled whilst reading this book. She never fails to make me laugh. It is a very honest, sharp and contemporary memoir. Backed up by amazing writers and thinkers like Du Bois. The fact that Ziwe was able to explain double consciousness in such a ‘simple' way, is impressive, and makes me appreciate this book so much more.

Though, it is ‘sold' as a collection of essays, I think it is more of a memoir that is written in essay-like chapters. Really really liked it.

Even while writing a book that focuses on the serious cultural issues and introspection that she often alludes to in her comedy, Ziwe can't help but continue being one of the funniest people alive.
