Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider #1

Two stars for the artwork and the awesome costume that the Scarlet Spider is rocking. I don't understand what is going on. Am I supposed to be reading something before this to understand?

Why is this guy trying so hard to be Deadpool? Won't be picking up #2 to find out.
