Bellamy and the Brute

This is a pretty good Beauty and the Beast retelling. It doesn't follow the original take exactly, which is always nice. This way we aren't rehashing the old story over and over. I also liked that the parents are there and present. They are actually used in the story. 

Bellamy has self-respect and lets Tate and others know when they don't treat her correctly. I absolutely loved this. You set them straight! She is a great role model, in some ways. The side characters don't really get developed, though.

The mystery was interesting. I wasn't always sure where it was going to go or who it would implicate. Really, intriguing with different parts. Unfortunately, it also felt like it dragged towards the second half of the book and there were things added that prolonged the story, when it didn't feel needed. 

This is one I'd recommend to people wanting a mix of romance with mystery. Not everything is about how they look! They actually do work on the mystery.
